Since 24 June 2024, Line 14 of the Paris Metro has connected Orly Airport to the centre of Paris in less than 30 minutes. This line, also known by its project name "Meteor," is fully automated and driverless.
Thanks to the automatic train control software developed using the B formal method and the CLEARSY’s tool: ATELIER B, the safety and reliability of this critical system are ensured.
The continued success of Paris Line 14, made possible thanks to the B method, demonstrates that formal methods are not only effective but also sustainable for critical systems.
Atelier B is the tool developed and distributed by CLEARSY for over 25 years to support the B method, develop proven critical software, and demonstrate system safety through mathematical proof.
